Notes…
1) Video 01: Welcome to the Challenge… (2025)
In this video, Aaron Doughty noted how:
Daily videos & zoom links will be unlocked each morning of the challenge;
Some videos will have PDFs with notes or Ohm-Work to complete during the challenge;
Challenge participants are encouraged to post to their Ohm-Work to the Facebook group as a form of taking personal accountability.
Finally, Doughty asked people to post an introduction in the challenge’s Facebook group; and to complete and post the intake form.
2) Video 02: High Vibe Tribe Activation… (2025)
This video served as an introductory meditation designed by Doughty to activate the energy and principles that challenge participants can lean in to. It is a standard meditation he uses across many of his challenges, and is just under an hour long. For Doughty, being high vibe involves leaning into shadow work, the uncomfortableness, the unknown, and understanding that we are no better than anybody else, “…as everyone is on their own journey.” High vibe members are also humble, realizing that we are also all connected and separate as we are safe in our own energy. Doughty also explained the value of living non-judgmentaly, where another core value of being in the high vibe tribe is cultivating a neutrality practice through meditation. We respond rather than react.
Further to this, Doughty also noted how members of the high vibe tribe do not place ideas or people on pedestals, as doing so creates resistance between an individual and that idea or person (let go and let be). Instead one focuses on changing their own being or story because our stories are flexible and change over time. Ultimately our souls came here to be bold by being true to ourselves. We are committed to being passionate about what we chose to do and in how we ground ourselves, cultivate gratitude, and finding beauty in the little things. Doughty notes that our outer reality is a reflection of our inner reality where we are already whole, and complete by being who we prefer to be.

1) Post 01: Introduction…
Artifact 01 > Lee, Steven H. “2025 Magnetic Love Challenge.”
Transcript: “I’m Steven Lee, And I live in beautiful South Surrey, British Columbia Canada, about a 40 minute drive southeast of downtown Vancouver. Years ago I took a leap and went back to school to pursue a bachelor of fine arts. But significant health issues have made it difficult to get that done. I’ve been overweight most of my adult life (although I’ve lost almost 100 pounds in the last few years), I developed type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and in 2023 I suffered a stroke my doctor says should have killed me. My physical health was impacted by a poor diet as I’ve spent too many years trying to ease my struggle with anxiety and major persistent depression by devouring junk food and sugary drinks. So it’s a bit of a catch 22, a cycle I’m trying to break.
One thing I love about living in Metro Vancouver is I’m close to nature. I grew up in a very small, rural town in the middle of British Columbia called Williams Lake where the wilderness was all about. Part of my emerging artistic practice involves exploring our connections with nature. It’s grounding and peaceful. My anxiety was bad today but twenty minutes into a short walk and I feel a little bit whole again.
I’m taking this challenge because I want to work on my connection with myself. I want to work on my self love, and feel more comfortable expressing unconditional reverence for others and this world we inhabit. I’ve been in a few short relationships that only lasted a few months and I was in one that lasted over seven. Most saw my partners cheat on me, something that definitely impacted my self esteem and fed my negative persistent thoughts about my own worthiness as a human being.
I’ve tried doing several of Aaron’s challenges before but have always struggled to finish them. So I would love to push forward with this. One challenge I set out for myself this year was to watch a movie a day; and I managed to do that between January 1 and mid June: almost six months, 70 movies in theatres and over 220 seen altogether. I also try to write a bit everyday, which I also find creatively grounding. I hope to find happiness again using joy as my barometer making it easier to connect with myself and others.
So that’s a little introduction to me. See you out there!”
Group Responses / Feedback…
To keep a record of comments and feedback I received on accountability posts I made to the challenge’s Facebook group, I will be posting screenshots where appropriate. I will be deleting the names and profile photos of my fellow learner / challenge participants who commented on my posts. I am doing this because the challenge’s Facebook group was a private group where only members can see what’s posted. Having said that, when comments were made by group administrators / moderators, I will not be hiding their names as these individuals were helping to run Aaron’s challenge.
2) Post 02 (Pre-Challenge Exercise): Magnetic Frequency Rating
One of the first tasks Aaron had learners undertake was to complete the following intake form which helped learners consider where they were at the beginning of the challenge and to post it to the Facebook group related to the challenge. Here was my response…

1) 21-Day Self-Love Challenge…
Introduction
This was not promoted by Doughty, but a few years ago I picked up author Ingrid Lindberg’s book, THE 21-DAY SELF-LOVE CHALLENGE: LEARN HOW TO LOVE YOURSELF UNCONDITIONALLY, CULTIVATE SELF-WORTH, SELF-COMPASSION AND CONFIDENCE which I have decided to work through alongside Doughty’s challenge.
Ultimately, I’ve long believed that it’s best to live life with unconditional compassion, cooperation, curiosity, empathy, forgiveness, friendship, gratitude, harmony, sharing, love, and reverence for all life, in everything we do, starting with ourselves, no matter what. Many authors I have read have advocated for this, emphasizing the importance of starting with cultivating a deeply grounded self-love.
Below is a screenshot of the book’s introduction and day one discussion. I won’t always post about this outside of providing short written reflections - and today’s screenshots are provided simply to give people an idea of how the book is structured and what ideas it explores.
Awareness is a concept related to mindfulness- specifically it is one of the 9 attitudinal foundations of mindfulness as laid out by Jon Kabat-Zinn. Louise Hay, in mentoring others on their self-love journeys, also reflects on how the journey begins with self-awareness, which is why I dug a little deeper into how I felt at the beginning of this challenge as seen above.
But further to the discussion about self-love that was found in Lindbergh‘s introduction, I messaged approximately a dozen friends with a simple question: “Do you love yourself?” I got six replies and contrary to Lindbergh’s assertion that she believed no one would say yes, I had three friends who said yes, one of whom provided a brief qualifier, noting: “Yes, I do love myself, I think thats the most important thing to do first before giving a piece of yourself to other people.” It was a beautifully grounded response from a young woman. The other simple “yes” replies were from a woman and a man (I’m choosing not to specifically reveal who said what, as I never said that I would be posting their responses anywhere - although I did note when asked that I mass reading Lindbergh’s book, and sent the above screenshot).
Another young female friend responded, saying “I try too,” to which I responded with, “Same.” I did not ask any further follow-up questions although I am thinking that I might at some point. By comparison a female friend I have known for a long time said, “I suppose so, cause I keep trying to make myself and my life better.” Another very authentic response I could get behind.
One very close male friend of mine responded with, “Depends.” I responded with, “Do you love your brother? Your parents?” Immediately he said, “Yes.” I followed up asking, “Without a qualifier like depends?” He then replied saying for loving himself, “Depends on how I feel and look. When I feel I don’t take care of me, I don’t love myself as well.” It was a very heartfelt and honest response that resonated with me.
2) Online Self Survey Results…
Although this was not a part of the challenge, it did fit in with the theme of examining where one was at the beginning of the program.
On September 14, 2025, I completed a Psychology Today quiz that measured my Self-Esteem. It was a twenty (20) question test where one answers the questions based on how strongly they agree or disagree with a statement. As I answered each question, I asked myself if my response was authentic to how I have been feeling. And as someone who has struggled with anxiety and major persistent depression since I was a teenager, the score wasn’t surprising.
On July 15, 2025, I scored 94/100 on Psychology Today’s online Depression Test. Like the Self-Esteem Test, it was a twenty (20) question test where one answers the questions based on how strongly they agree or disagree with a statement. Specifically, a score like mine which fell in the range of “82/100” represents one as being generally depressed.
