Gratitude is one of the most powerful forces in the universe.

Gratitude is more than good manners.

A regular Gratitude practice is transformational.

It helps you to pay purposeful attention, which is also good. Unexpected things start to happen when you have a Gratitude practice.

Things that happen when you’re grateful include:

  • You attract good things (law of attraction).

  • Attention is focussed on good things flowing into your life. Do you attract more of what your focus on. It puts you into a particular state of being.

  • A loop of happiness is created.

  • Like attracts like.

  • Your experience greater happiness.

  • When were grateful, our energy is devoted to being thankful for the wonderful life that we have.

  • When we are grateful, we feel happy, so we’re more grateful, so we feel happier. A loop of happiness is created.

  • Remember that negative thoughts attract negativity in your life. Gratitude practice helps you become more positive and therefore you attract more positivity into your life.

  • Your relationships deepen.

  • Gratefulness is magnetic. Gratitude is a happiness vitamin.

  • Thankfulness is an exchange of positive energy between two people. When we’re grateful to others, it attracts them to us.

  • You become healthier.

    • In one study, participants were asked to either count their blessings or their burdens. Those who counted their blessings:

      • Had 16% fewer physical symptoms;

      • Spent 19% more time exercising;

      • Had 10% less physical pain;

      • Got 8% more sleep;

      • Had 25% increased sleep quality.

  • Gratefulness is powerful when it comes to promoting good health.

  • Gratefulness puts positive energy out into the world and the universe – YOU ARE MORE OPTIMISTIC.

    • Studies show a 5% increase in optimism for those who kept a weekly gratitude, journalling practice.

    • Studies show a 15% increase in optimism for those who kept a daily gratitude journalling practice.

  • Optimism is significantly correlated with gratitude. Everything seems possible.

  • Your mental health improves. Specifically, gratitude:

    • reduces toxic emotions such as envy and regret;

    • minimizes depression; and

    • decrease stress.

  • If you want to get a better hold on your emotions, and start living a mentally, healthy life, start practising gratitude.

  • Your personality is enhanced. Specifically, gratitude helps you:

    • Become emotionally resilient;

2.1. What is Gratefulness?

A GIFT!

Gratitude as a way of living. It’s a state of being in which you open yourself up to receive good things from God or from the universe. It’s the posture of openness, receptiveness, and willingness to receive things that are good.

WHEN you do receive very good things, you instinctively give thanks.

GRATITUDE IS NOT a one time event. Where are you simply say thank you.

Gratitude is perpetual way of life, almost like breathing.

  4. KEEP A GRATITUDE JOURNAL: ask: what experiences in my life can I be grateful for? What happened lately? That makes me thankful? What opportunities do I have today? What have significant others done in my life that I am grateful for? Reflect on the reasons why.

Gratitude allows one to live life, assessed, fullness, with joy, happiness, and a smile.

Gratitude helps one not get stuck in grumpiness, or grouchiness.
