5.1. Advanced Listening

VISUAL LISTENING: Imagining what somebody is like, inferring from what they are saying, from the sound of their voice, the kind of person they are.

BEING A LISTENING

For example, the listening position of LOVING LISTENING > consciously coming from nothing, with complete generosity, learning the language. It’s almost like passive listening, so you’re no longer restricting the person you’re listening to. Be completely open.

SELLING LISTENING: builds rapport, is based in empathy. Leave the speaker feeling understood. Listening without being high pressure. It’s about listening and responding appropriately. Think - Feel - Knowing. VAK > Visual, Auditory, Kinaesthetic (touch/ feel).

Listening is important in building BUSINESS RELATIONSHIPS

INNER: affirmations, detached compassion

OUTER: appropriate position, RASA

CONTENT: HAIL (Honesty, Authenticity, Integrity, and Love)

DELIVERY: train, register, prosody, silence
